Silent Disco Party and Live Set
Posted by j matthews in Mixes on June 25, 2012
Thanks to all that could make it to my gig at the Silent Disco arena at the River’s Edge Music Festival. It was an awesome time. Below you will find my recording that is downloadable.
There was some technical difficulties for the people who were at the event listening, but not on the recording so you will hear the whole thing without the glitches.
Thanks to Sound In Motion for having me out to play. It was a great time!!

Fall is here, and today its snowing. YUCK. So winter is coming up and I am actually looking forward to it. Crazy right? Well, once the snow flies, and I get things together, I will be enjoying it thoroughly.
Last winter, I wasnt as excited, and made a winter mix to express my feelings towards it. Check er out here:
Maybe this winter I will make a new mix, to express my fondness of fresh wax on snow.

J Matthews – Fuck Off (its 2004)
Posted by j matthews in Mixes on September 15, 2010
Tonight, with the help of some friends who unknowingly encouraged me to dig into the pre “house music is dying” era, I decided to dig deep and get on the decks. Bad day at work + horrible traffic + stormy weather = J Matthews – Fuck Off (its 2004) mix.
I wasn’t around for the House Music Minneapolis music scene from 2003 – 2005. I was in Boston and most of these tracks were hot in the Boston underground house music scene.
All tracks are pre 2005, so a span of late 90′s to end of 2004. Enjoy!
Sorry, no track listings this time.

Last Night was a Party!!

Solera Rooftop Sessions was a great time. I got to play some great deep house music, some funky house music, and drink large quantities of tequila. Very special thanks to Patrick James and Big Momma J!
It was a great time and I have to thank all that came out and partied. I got a little tipsy, thanks to Mike B.
Next up, HotDish 1 Year Anniversary show! Woot!
For those of you not familiar with Solera Rooftop, in the summer time it is one of the best places to catch some of the best Twin Cities house music DJs. Dance music, for those who wonder.
Promo Mix for the upcoming Funk Yeah! FM radio show
Posted by j matthews in Mixes on August 14, 2010
LOL.
So I had an itch that I scratched earlier. To help with promoting the Funk Yeah! FM radio show and to play some of the new house music tracks that I got recently, I decided to make this mix.
There is some really good shit out there lately. I have to say that some of the producers on this mix are in TOP FORM.
So, enjoy… I voice over a little bit, just to talk about the upcoming show, but otherwise, pretty solid/slammin mix.
